Dr. Oz Says Stretching in Bed is the Best Gift for Your Body When You Wake UP in the Morning (MyWakeUPCalls.com)
Dr. Oz says that stretching in bed is the best gift you can give your body each morning. Here is a stretch you can do when you first wake up:
Lying on your stomach, place the palms of your hands on the bed next to your waist. Inhale for three counts and arch your upper body up, looking at the ceiling with your eyes, while pressing into your hands and straightening your arms. Exhale for three counts and lower back down on the bed. Inhale for three counts, press up, and arch your upper back, exhale, and lower back down on the bed. And, once more, inhaling for three counts and arching up, eyes to the ceiling and exhale for three counts and relax back down. Ahhhh! Good morning, body!
There are many reasons to stretch in bed in the morning. You loosen up your body and unlock any joints that may have tightened up during the night. Stretching also gently warms up your body, so you can wake up and work out more easily. Research shows that you have a much better chance of actually fitting in a workout when you exercise before your daily schedule kicks in. Your metabolism also benefits the most when you elevate it at the start of your day. Lastly, some people have a difficult time falling asleep after exercising in the evening.

This is one of the daily tips from My Workout Wake UP Call Motivational Alarm Clock messages. Enjoy!
Dr. Oz says that stretching in bed is the best thing you can do for your body when you wake up every morning. Here’s a stretch you can do before you get out of bed:While lying on your back, hug your knees up to your chest and then bring the soles of your feet together, holding your feet with your hands. Gently let your knees open out to the sides. Inhale slowly for three counts. And exhale slowly for three counts, gently increasing the stretch. You may use your elbows to press against your knees, for an even greater stretch, if you’d like. Again, inhale slowly for three counts and exhale slowly for three counts. And once more, inhale for three counts and exhale for three counts.
There are great benefits to stretching in bed in the morning. Stretching loosens up your body and unlocks any joints that may have tightened up during the night. It also gently warms up your body, so you can wake up and work out more easily. Research shows that you have a much better chance of actually working out before your schedule kicks in for the day. Your metabolism benefits the most when you boost it at the beginning of your day, instead of in the evening. And, for some people, exercising in the evening interferes with their sleep cycle.

10 Methods To Help Melt The Stress
10 methods to help melt the stress
When you’re straining under everyday pressure, technology, tea, good old-fashioned fun or seven other de-stressers can help take the worry away
By JAN JARVIS
“If you have any doubt that stress is pandemic, just Google it.
The word stress produces nearly 180 million responses. That thought alone is probably enough to send your stress hormones surging.
There’s no escaping stress, but there are plenty of ways to deal with it, from homespun strategies to proven techniques.
Start by taking care of yourself, said Dr. Mary Lynn Crow, a Fort Worth psychologist and professor at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Getting enough sleep and eating healthful foods can help you tolerate stress better, she said.
“If you think things will never get better, it ups your stress, as opposed to thinking that this is not a good situation but everybody’s doing their best,” Crow said. “Your self-talk can make a difference.”
Lots of techniques — deep breathing, yoga poses, list-making, exercise — can break up the day and help reduce stress.
“If you get a sense of peaceful control over your life and your world, it does reduce stress,” Crow said.
Here are some fun and soothing ways to turn down the volume on stress:
A gentler way to wake up
My Wake Up Call promises to deliver an upbeat message that gets you out of bed in a kinder, gentler way than the annoying buzz of an alarm clock. A month’s worth of daily inspirational messages can be downloaded to an MP3 player or CD.
Research shows that an uplifted mindset upon awakening adds up to a positive perspective throughout the day. And that means less stress.
My Workout Wake Up Call is the first in a series of motivational messages and includes music recorded by the American Wind Symphony Orchestra. The messages from a personal trainer are designed to encourage listeners to get up and go exercise.
Others on the way include: My Worthiness Wake Up Call, My Wellness Wake Up Call and My Wisdom Wake Up Call.
There are several ways to get the motivational messages. You can download a month’s worth of messages to your iPod or iPhone for about $20 a month (you’ll need the free alarm clock from the iTunes app store) or buy a CD player with messages for about $50. Other options are available at www.mywakeupcalls.net…”
